My favorite subject

Zoe had taken over our household. That’s usually what happens when a new baby arrives, isn’t it. Schedules change, everyone starts baby-talkin and we all fight over who gets to hold her next. She still sleeps a lot and doesn’t mind getting passed around in the middle of her dreams. Even Roxy our cat wants to be next to her.

Now Roxy is not your usual cat. She is a gracious 25 pounds, which is about 2 1/2 times the size of Zoe. She has been on a diet for quite some time now…we may need to get her on the treadmill.
She’s pretending to be camera shy.

How did we ever live without her?

Mr. and Mrs. Jonathon Massie

Sissy and Jonathon met in the Bahamas, where Jonathon’s family has lived for years. Sissy has traveled around the world, and met the man of her dreams on the island of Nassau in a Starbucks coffee shop. ( yay, Starbucks!) They were married on November 17th, at Druid Hills United Methodist Church by Gearel Spicer, a very cool Pastor. It was a beautiful ceremony and a very fun reception at Anthony’s in Atlanta. There was great island music and chivlary reigned as Jonathon carried his bride out the front door to the awaiting Rolls Royce, and off to Hawaii.

Congratulations! Here’s your slideshow.

Happy Feet

What is it about a baby’s little tiny feet that I love so much? They will eventually lead her to places all throughout her life. They will run and jump and dance…they are so sweet. She is watching football with her Daddy here on the couch and those little feet just rest in his hand.

Madison is the proudest big sister I know. Both her and Steve like to tease me that Zoe sleeps just like I do on a plane. ha-ha. They are very happy trying to record me on film or video when I take a nap with her and they wait for my mouth to open like hers. They have been too noisy laughing so far and I wake up and catch them before they get proof.
If you haven’t seen this movie, go out tonight and get it. What a beautiful story. Johnny Depp is so good in this story about how the writer of Peter Pan wrote the play. Get some Kleenex before it starts though. The little boy who plays Peter will break your heart.

I love my mom and sister!

They both live in Utah, and they have been here for the last 3 weeks totally blessing me and it has been so good. My sister was here for 2 weeks and she totally took charge. We are 20 months apart (she’s older) and she has 2 kids of her own. One is 22 and the other is 20. I know, she looks great, doesn’t she? Well, she has recently gone through an intense training and evaluation process to be a shelter parent for babies up to 6 months old. She will take care of babies that need a temporary place to stay. The average time is 28 days and I am so proud of her. It is a huge commitment that requires a heart full of love, and an attitude of total generosity. She has recently come to know Jesus and it has changed her life. I don’t think I have ever seen her so happy or so unselfish. I really didn’t want her to go home. I have lived away from my family for 20 years and this was the first time ( almost) that I wanted to go home with her. Oh…the bittersweet heartache of it all. I’m so glad that she will be going to London with me in December to take care of Zoe while I shoot a dear friends wedding. That means 6 more weeks and I get to see her again!
My mom and Jody in the back yard on what I think was the last wonderfully warm fall day of the year. I just took my mom to the airport today…( I miss you already mom.) We had such a wonderful time with her here. It was a much needed time to reconnect and have some great talks about life, God, being a mom and things that mean a lot. Thank you for everything, Mom.
My daughter Madison commented on how we all had different hair color, and so we nicknamed ourselves Zoe’s Angels…you know, instead of Charlie’s.
Ha-ha. Too funny.
My husband has been surrounded by girls for weeks. I’m happy to say that he has done very well. I’m so blessed!
