Abby and Tim

I had a great time shooting this wedding, and I was blessed to have Amanda Phillips shooting with me. Abby and Tim had some very uniqe details added to their wedding. It’s the little things that make weddings differentiate from each other, along with the people themselves. I like posting about those things when I blog about weddings. What made it personal to them? How will I remember it?It seems that everyone has a camera these days at weddings. I like opportunity to photograph people taking photograhs. It doesn’t bother me at all, I know that some people build their portfolios being guests at weddings. I say, more power to ya. You’ve gotta get in somehow.

I always try to find a unique way to photograph the rings. I will never, ever, ever take another picture with the rings on the invitation with the bouquet sitting behind them. ever.
This is Tommy the ring bearer, Abby’s retired greyhound show dog. He did a marvelous job of walking a down the aisle by himself, in the middle of the ceremony.
“waiting, waiting, waiting…”
Tim and his crew.
I love this shot.

This is Anthony’s Restaraunt in Atlanta. It is a fabulous place for a wedding. The staff is always wonderful and the ambiance is nostalgtic and trendy at the same time.
The catering is done by Anthony’s, and they are known for their salmon displays. It’s so good!
This is one of the unique events that I hope I never see again. Abby has had a prior knee injury and to take precaution, she even wore flat ballet slippers the entire day. Her brother was finally able to get a dance with her and right in the middle of it all, she moved the wrong way and out went her kneecap. Needless to say, the music stopped and thank God, one of the guests was a paramedic. He moved her knee cap back in place and put a brace on her leg. She was able to finish the evening and make a slow get-a-way at the end of the night. Her mom said she was doing pretty good a few days later, I hope you are feeling 100% better, Abby.
Congratulations Abby and Tim

The Ratmeyer’s

Max is 4. He’s super smart and he loves numbers. I’m talkin LOVES them.

I took photos of Nora when she was 2 days old. I blinked sometime between then and now.
This is her fort in her big brother’s room.

Max is like most 4 year olds, he’s very curious and loves attention.

We went to the park and Nora wanted to swing and Max wanted to write numbers. Lots of them
Children have such a way of reminding us all that life goes by all to fast and that we should really enjoy it as much as possible.

Thanks for letting me spend the morning with you!

Congratulations Mike and Rita!

They finally did it! After years ( I think 12 ) of dating, Mike and Rita exchanged vows at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge in Greensboro last Saturday. I have a feeling it’s going to be a snowball effect for Rita’s friends, too. It was a beautiful, rainy day out at the Ritz, but it cleared in perfect timing for photos. It was a morning ceremony with an elaborate, 3 course luncheon following. I was finished by 3:30 and didn’t quite know what to do with myself. Check out their engagement shots and then click below for their wedding slideshow.

HERE’S YOUR SLIDESHOW!

April + Harold

A wonderful example of love being fun. April has the most beautiful smile, and Harold makes her laugh. It was hard for her to be serious. She just has so much joy and the giddyness of a school girl and he absolutely adores her. It was fun hanging around them and I can’t wait for their wedding in October.

Michelle and Greg went all out. Horse drawn carriages, clairanet serenades, a dragonfly ice sculpture that was also a vodka shoot, Harley Davidson groom’s cake to match the one outside, and a custom built koi pond in the ballroom. This was definately not your typical wedding. After the “i do” and kiss, they walked down the aisle to the theme song from “Rocky”. No kidding. Everyone was a lot of fun to photograph. The first dance was simply amazing, everyone was hot after that and the atmosphere was retro and tropical at the same time.
Maxine, from Edge Design Group did an fantastic job at transforming the ballroom into a tropical lounge with divine floral arrangements and Pat Orangio from Weddings of Distinction ran the entire show flawlessly.

These same words were written on the layers of the cake.

Congratulaions Michelle and Greg. You get the most romantic couple of the year award!
