Lorri + Nick {9 nineteen 09}

One of the things that I really appreciate about being a wedding photographer is that I get to be involved in people’s lives. I couldn’t make it in an office job, sitting at a desk doing the same thing over and over, especially if I didn’t get to interact with people. I’ve known Lorri and Nick for over 3 years, and I really want to commend them for taking the vow of marriage seriously. Now I’m not saying that most people don’t, but I do know a lot of women who get so caught up in the idea and planning of the Big Day that if something were to come up that might disrupt the plan, it’s easier to push it aside and go on. After all, who wants to go through the hard stuff when we could just deal with it later? Lorri and Nick chose to be authentic in their relationship and in their wedding vows and actually called off their wedding 2 years ago so that they could get right with each other and with God. That’s a BIG deal. I have so much respect for them and their families that when their wedding finally came around, it was an entirely different level of celebration. I want to also say here that I have seen couples marry and divorce within the first year and it breaks my heart. I can sense a lot about a couple just on their engagement shoot, I mean, you know the difference between a couple who is flat out crazy about each other and a couple that is just going through the motion. Lorri and Nick….I have no doubts that they are one of the strongest couples on the day of their wedding than many are even years after they’ve been married. and that….is really, really cool.

The day started of at a super hip, trendy, salon called Three 13 in Marietta. (It’s also a great place to go if you are thinking about getting a tattoo.) Makeup was done by Kat Laskowski and mentioned how helpful it is when the bride brings a picture of how she wants her makeup to look. hint hint.

Lorri used her mother’s full length veil from 35 years ago which I just LOVED. Veils are so romantic and feminine. Think about it…when will you ever be able to wear one again?? It brought back memories for her dad, I’m sure and I love the image of her parents after he has just seen her for the first time.

It was a double excitement for me because she also had a bird cage veil for the reception. Super chic!

Blessed is the man who finds a wife. Proverbs 18:24

I love these two images of Nick because there is so much joy in his expressions.

Conyers United Methodist Church was the location and it really has a lot of family history for Lorri. Her grandparents were a huge part of it and there is furniture and windows and little details throughout the entire building that belonged to her family and has special meaning for them.

The first dance.

A little shout out to the videographer, Rich Fiallo, he was just cool to work with.

Bubbles were the way to go and instead of lining up outside where the wind would wisk them away, they did a last (bubble) dance.

Congratualtions Lorri and Nick!! I wish you all the best! {{{{{HERE’S YOUR SLIDESHOW}}}}}

    Shawna,
    THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. We can’t thank you enough for the absolutely incredible pictures that captured our perfect day. We love them and are just in awe as we look at your work. We are also so appreciative of what you wrote. We pray that God will use our testimony of love as a witness to others, so hopefully others will be blessed by your blog too. God is so amazing and He has truly blessed our lives and our relationship. He has blessed us with each other, not only the love of each others lives but best friends too. We fall more and more in love with each other every day, a kind of true love that only comes from Him. He has also blessed us with awesome family and friends. We feel like we have the best parents in the world! We could go on and on, but we’ll end it with He has also blessed us with you! :-) You are so cool! You are an incredible photographer and friend. You were so fun with our engagement session, you were wonderful on our wedding day, and the pictures that wrap it all up are outstanding and will be cherished forever. Also, you are right that Rich is cool. He is super awesome too. To anyone who is looking or has any question about a photographer and videographer to capture their special event, Shawna and Rich are the way to go…no doubt. I promise you will be SO elated. Shawna,
    While I feel like I have known you for almost 3 years now, it was a blessing to finally meet you in person at Three 13 and then see and watch you in action at Lorri and Nick’s wedding. I absolutely love all the pictures I’ve seen so far from their engagement sitting and wedding. Am so looking forward to spending time with Lorri tomorrow night viewing all the many pictures you took. Your work is definitely some of the best I’ve ever seen and you are an absolute joy to be around and see in action. Thank you so much for making a very special occasion even more memorable that we will enjoy for years to come as we look back through Lorri and Nick’s wedding album and our parents’ album. I’m all out of kids to get married but I just know our paths will cross again in the future. May God richly bless you for the blessing you have been to our family! You truly exemplify a Godly woman in how you relate to others. Thanks for everything! Shiree
