Dyan + Derrick {engagements}

They have this awesome energy between them. She is soft spoken, hip, classy and gorgeous. He’s confident, observant and rather rock-starish. Together they made my time with them really exciting. They wanted an urban feel to their images and we got that and more. They’re getting married next spring in Vegas where I am positive that those images will rock everyone’s world.

Lisa + Bryan {e-session}

When I asked Lisa to tell me something interesting about Bryan she told me that’s he’s super super organized. He’s a great planner too, like, way more than normal. She told me how he asked her to marry him by planning this secret trip to the Bahamas, with a detour beginning at a hotel location where the ring came on a tray as part of her breakfast choices. She said yes and was then asked to dress because a car was waiting downstairs to take them on their very-well-planned-engagement vacations where both sets of parents awaited their arrival. I looked at Bryan and told him that he had just made every other guy about to propose so much less cooler than he was.
Bryan is a financial investor and he reads people very well so when he first met Lisa he was intrigued because she was a “tough read.” There’s a lot more to her than the obvious brains and beauty so he set out on a quest to win her love. He was successful and they’ll be getting married this fall at the Botanical Gardens of Atlanta.
We shot their engagment photos on Emory campus to signify where they met and fell in love.

Congratulations Lisa and Bryan, see you in a few months!

Meghan + Chris {engagements}

They’ll be getting married next June and I’m so happy to be their photographer. I met them at Leah and Joseph’s wedding last month when Terry Saxe introduced us and told me they had just got engaged. They saw the photos from that wedding and called me the next week and booked me over the phone/email. I just love that. There is no greater advertiser than your personal friend or your own experience. You just can’t beat that kind of reference. So we met at Eagles Landing Country Club in between rain showers and had a ball getting to know one another and capturing some great images. He’s from Chicago and she’s from Texas and they met in Brazil. ha. Go figure. When the stars line up, not even states and countries can stop love from happening. Here’s a few of my favorites.

Jenny + Jared {engagements}

A few weeks ago I had the chance to visit the Nation’s capitol and photograph Jenny and Jared in their hometown. They aren’t originally from there but migrated from Atlanta and Chicago and now they call it home. It’s an awesome town and we had a great time. We also bonded in our near death experience with an out of control driver who came up on the curb and nearly took us all out but other than that, it was a fabulous trip. I would tell you what they do for a living but I swore to secrecy in front of the White House so you’ll just have to enjoy the photos without knowing any more than that.

They’re getting married next year in Atlanta and I’m looking forward to it. Here’s a few of my favorites.

Lakesha + Keltric {engagements}

Lakesha and Keltric met up with me at Junkman’s daughter in Little Five Point and I knew instantly that it was going to be a fun session.  Don’t get me wrong, they had the usual jitters about being stalked by a camera while trying to act natural but it only lasted for about….um…5 seconds.  They are absolute naturals and Keltric keeps her laughing with his great sense of humor which makes it all the more fun.

Engagement sessions are such an important time for me and my clients as it helps us both to get to know each other a little as far as being in front of and behind the camera. I get to see how well they shoot, like if the need a little or a lot of direction and they get to see that I’m a really fun photographer and together we can take great images. it puts them at ease so that when I show up on the wedding day, they feel like their friend has arrived and there’s no need to worry or be uptight.

After strolling around town a bit we did a wardrobe change and grabbed some balloons and a picnic basket and headed for the park. They are serious wine connoisseurs so I thought it would be perfect to incorporate into their photos.

They will be getting married next May and the fabulous Wedding Soiree will be running the show so I know it’s going to be AWESOME.
Lakesha and Keltric, I’m so excited to be a part of your wedding, you two have a very exciting energy about you and I had so much fun. Can’t wait till May 2010!
