Sara Katherine Nicole Davies {6 days old}

My friend is a grandmother. LOL. I didn’t really think twice about it until I thought of my friend being a grandmother which means that I am in the age bracket where I could potentially be a grandmother. No, wait. For real! It would be possible but my oldest is only 13 so forget about it. I am super happy for her though, she’s a super hip, cute grandmother and her daughter Courtney brought this sweet bundle joy into the world on March 31st at 8:10 p.m. weighing 7 lbs 13.5 ounces.

Congratulations, friend. That’s one lucky little baby to have you as her grandma.

Ruiz Family

Dean Ruiz is a genius and his wife, Gabby is a sals-dancing-manager-extrodainaire-hot-mama.
I am the one who gets blessed by knowing them. Dean has been working with me this year as an intern in the wedding photography business. He is an absolute genius in his own right and I find myself going to him for wisdom and instruction way more than he comes to me for experience.
They are rockin hot salsa teachers (undercover) and they inspire me with their devotion to one another and their love for God.

They are made in the image of their Creator and therfore, they create.  Thalia is a pordict of pure love. A blossom of two hearts.

Drake Laurent Towers

I love seeing my previous wedding couples have babies. It makes me feel like part of their family. Mar and Et’Chane have been moved into the “NEW PARENTS” category with the arrival of Drake on September 27, 2009. He is absolutely adorable, I wouldn’t expect anything less and he is also giving his new parents the crash course on sleep deprivation. I think Etch has worn in a new path on their wooden floor from multiple middle of the night paces trying to help little Drake through his colicky, sleepless nights.
Don’t worry guys, it won’t last forever and you will get a full nights sleep again…just not as soon as you would like. Take advantage of your friends who offer to come over and help so you can rest. They love you and so do I!

Welcome baby Gabriel

Micah + Lindsey were married last June in Destin, Florida.  They are the sweetest couple, Lindsey is an adorable kindergarten teacher and Micah is a life changing Pastor at Campus Church in Milledgeville, GA. (I’m totally serious.  If you have never seen a miracle, hang out with him for a few hours, you will never be the same.)

I was very fortunate to be able to photograph the birth of their son, Gabriel Micah Usry, on Aug 8, 2009.  I love their entire family and feel honored to have been able to document such an incredible event.  Lindsey did an incredible job remaining calm, focused and cute the whole time.  Her sister Lauren was in the room as a cheer leader/coach and Micah only got pale once.  It was perfect.

Made sure to watch the slideshow too.


It has to be the most amazing moment I can think of, when this baby that you’ve carried inside your body for 40 weeks, constantly wondering what he will look like, be like, sound like, finally arrives and you see him for the first time. Of all the photos that can be taken of a birth, this first glance is the most intense and memorable.
