More baby stuff!
It’s funny, isn’t it? When you buy a particular car, as soon as you drive it off the lot, you instantly notice all the other people who have a car like yours. It must be similar with babies. Not that I never noticed them but since I’ve had mine, it seems like I am shooting everyone else’s too… This is my friends, Patrick and Lea Reynolds son, Evan. He was dedicated on Sunday and we went to their house after church for a little get together and some southern cooking. Their were a LOT of babies there. The star of the afternoon has the biggest blue eyes and the cutest dimple on his chin. You are a star, Evan.

This is his big brother Brandt. I had the awesome opportunity of photographing Brandt being born a little over 2 years ago. He was a c-section baby, and I had favor with the Dr, who let me in to photograph. ( that’s not allowed anymore due to law suits ) It was incredible to watch. I’ll never forget it.
This is his ( Brandts ) girlfriend. She is adorable!
More friends hanging out at the party.
Kids play until they fall asleep. Kate is out! I had to get a photo of those eyelashes.
Of course, my own little sausage attended the big event. She is a happening baby…places to go, people to see, things to do….

This last weekend was full of children. They are so fun to photograph! They don’t care what they look like, or if I am getting their “better side”, they just want to have fun and it keeps me moving because they also don’t want to stay still for more than 5 seconds. This is little Jonah Bennett in the middle. I was very fortunate to photograph his home birth on January 9th . I was left in total awe as his mother delivered, in total grace, a 10 pound baby in the peace of her own home. He is in his oldest sister Rachel’s arms with Karissa by his head. His 2 brothers, Benjamin and Joshua are behind him with cousins Sydney and Emily on each end. We had great fun out in the country.

Desiree and Brandon were married on January 14, 2007 in Augusta, GA.
It was really a fabulous time. When I met Brandon for their E-session, I was about 7 months pregnant and we met up at Atlantic Station. Desiree had warned me that he did not like having his picture taken and I have to say that when I met him, I felt a little intimidated. He was a serious guy, and he was a challenge to get to smile, but at the end of the session, I had him figured out and realized that he is one of the most gentle, tender hearted grooms I have ever met. Silence can sometimes be mis-interpreted, and really, underneath it all, he is a big teddy bear.
And on top of that, he ended up loving his photos! (whew!)
They had the best first dance at the reception. It was a seriously fantastic choreographed dance! I was so impressed. I wish I had been a videographer for that part so I could share it with you, but you can CLICK HERE to get a glimpse of their wedding.
Congratulations Desiree and Brandon!

The Simms Family

The makings of a great family. Virgil, Lori, Trevor, Logan, Micah, and little Kate. We had a great time at the park. These kids all have very distinct personalities. Trevor is very determined in his ways. At 11, he has things all figured out. Logan is shy and outgoing. Micah wants to be in his daddy’s arms and Kate lives in her mommies arms. They are fun to be around and I admire Virgil and Lori for their dedication to their family.

Micah and Kate catching a ride.
This was Katie’s first ride in a swing. It was also the day after she turned 1. Happy Birthday Kate.

A good ‘ole fashioned log cabin photo.
Virgil and his 3 sons on a locomotive.

It was great hanging out with you all. Here is your slideshow.

I am now an “International Wedding Photographer!”

Sounds cool, doesn’t it? I love my job. It is so much fun to be involved in weddings. It’s even more fun to travel to new places and experience new things. My good friend Stacy lives in England and I had the great fortune of photographing her wedding. It was so beautiful. Her and Mark ( Conners, as his Brittish friends know him ) were married in a 12th century Abbey. The Master of Ceremonies announced the days events like they were royalty, ( I kept looking around for a guy to blow a long horn for everyone’s attention.) It was like something out of romatic fairytale. Stacy was absolutely beautiful and her new husband was as charming as they get. Congratulations you two!

There were so many wonderful, surprising things about Leamington. My sister came with me to take care of Zoë, who basically slept through the entire trip, and we laughed at street signs and had mild heart attacks from driving on the wrong side of the street. We made friends with a retired military guy on a bus by asking him what a “humped pelican crossing” was. He said it is a place in the street for people to cross, it has a bump in the road and the poles are painted pink. So there you go. Humped pelican crossing… Of course!

We toured Warwik Castle on a rainy grey day. They had an ice skating rink in the middle of the grounds which seemed very out of place.

Did you know that even babies have to have passports? I think that this year, you will also need to have them to travel to Canada and Mexico. She is gaining frequent flyer miles already! You are never to young to gain some culture.
