Rusty + Cheryl

We met at Ravinia a few nights ago to take a few shots before the wedding next weekend. Cheryl wasn’t too excited about it as she thought that she didn’t take very good pictures. I love to prove people wrong. :) I met Rusty and Cheryl in March of this year at his daughter’s wedding. They loved the pictures and asked if I was available for their wedding as well. That’s the best kind of compliment, if you ask me. I’m looking forward to next weekend at Canoe and can’t wait to see Lindsey and Will too.

Can you hear that???   Sounds like something sizzling…..!   Be careful, Rusty.

This one below is my favorite.   I think it’s such a romantic, sweeet image and I know I may be biased but they look great together. Don’t you think?  All of the shots we taken outside, near the parking lot and office buildings.  Color and light can make incredible backdrops as shown above and below.  The lights inside the parking lot and the building give off a warm glow and beautifully add to the moment they share.  Pure awesome-ness!

Thanks Rusty and Cheryl. I can’t wait to see you both on the big day!

Mar + Et’Chane { 9. twenty. 08 }

Detail Extraordinaire!  This wedding was incredi ble.  Mar has an impecable knack for the little (and big) personal touches that really make a wedding unique.  When I met her and Et’Chane almost a year ago, I knew immediately that there was nothing ‘usual’ about them.  As individuals, they each have a strong sense of style and as a couple, they are just dynamic!  The wedding was held at the Grand Hyatt in Buckhead and when I arrived the bridal suite was filled with energy, excitement and anticipation.  Nicola Horton of Your Agenda Events kept everything  running smoothly.

A stunning gown by Rivini and shoes, with no less of a statement, by Gucci.

Mar choose beautiful gifts for the wedding party, jewelry for bridesmaids and flower girl, embroidered hankercheif for dad and cuff links for Et’Chane.

During the preparations, Et’Chane texted chivalrous, romantic messages to each of Mar’s attendants and they came to her and read each message. Way to raise the standard, Et’Chane!
On Occasions of Atlanta did a beautiful job on the flowers. The Ceremony was gorgeous and the ballroom looked insane!

This is Mar’s best friend (kind of like a brother) Jesse.  He was a tremendous help during the entire day, and here he is trying to keep it together after seeing Mar for the first time with her veil on.  It’s OK, Jesse!  Crying makes great photos!

The stunning Mar Keisha Theresa Bellard.  Steve Moore Agancy provided flawless makeup and is always a great pleasure to work with. Credit for hair goes to Najah Aziz of Like a River hair salon.

I love the light here. We stepped outside and stood under the awning with the doors open behind to show some ambient light.

Et’Chane Javar Towers.  Smooth. Stylish. Loves to dance. Loves to cook. { Click here if you are in the market for a personal Chef!}  A very personable graduate from Moorhouse University with a great bunch of friends. What stands out more than any of these things is that he is undeniably and absolutely head over heels in love with Mar. It’s visible even from afar.

A beautiful detail that honored loved ones who have passed away. Orchids were carried in the processional and tucked into the Chuppah.

Overlooking the Japanese Gardens on the Terrace of the Grand Hyatt. The colors of Fuscia, Navy Blue and Grey were incorporated throughout the intire event.

A tender moment as Et’Chane sees Mar coming down the aisle.

There was a wonderful reverence during the Ceremony. There were tears, laughter, poetry readings and a beautiful exchange of vows. I love this shot of one of the Groomsmens hands.

Mr & Mrs. Towers. I love all the little point and shoot cameras!

There are so many pictures from this wedding that tell a little part of the story. Mar and Et’Chane just sizzle on the camera. It’s been so hard for me to narrow it down to post this blog entry. I just love you two! Congratulations!!

The Logo repeated throughout the event was an adorable ME.

Event Drapery  and Tabletoppersturned an ordinary ballroom into an extavagant wonderland. 2 corners of the ballroom were turned into chic lounges complete with couches and candlelight.

Frosted Pumpkinmelted everyone’s mouths with their exquisite cakes.

I love the name of the margaritas. How clever!

There was definately a first at this wedding as Mar and Et’Chane told me last year that they really wanted a photo booth. I’m always game for “firsts” so I brought some props and set up in the hallway during the reception. Amanda Phillips agreed to come and be in charge and she had a blast getting crazy with the guests. Everyone got in on the action and all had a great time.

The Catchers of the Boquet and Garter….the next Mr. & Mrs???

This is one of my favorites. Nothing like a surprise shot of silly string in the face!

There is so much more I could say but I have to stop somewhere.   It was just a wonderful wedding and I am so grateful to have been a part of it.  All the best to you both, Mr & Mrs. Towers.  You guys ROCK!

On the ball.

My friend Debbie is on it this year. By that I mean the average person hasn’t even begun to get into the  Holiday mood and she’s already busted a move on her Christmas cards.  I feel convicted because last year I mailed ours out after Christmas.  Maybe this is a hint for me.  And you.

Matt and Debbie are the proud parents of Freddy 6, Abby 5 and Henry 4.  A hoppin house to say the least.

I had a great time hanging out with you, thanks for inspiring us all to start early.

Off of Holiday & straight to work

Mar es tres chic. Really. The day before The Big Day she rented a trendy new lounge/spa called Polished and arrived in a Hummer Limo with 10 of her closest friends and family. They were treated to a catered luncheon followed by pedicures and manicures. The decor was stylish and modern and the atmosphere was filled with anticipation and joy. Mar is simply beautiful and I have been so excited about her wedding.   It was really great to meet everyone and get a head start on memorizing names.  When I arrived at the bridal suite the following day, it was so nice to walk in and be greeted by everyone.    Check back soon for a peek at the wedding.  It was AMAZING!

Get some Peace

Good Morning. This is the view out the balcony today. Peacful and inviting. Or at least it appears to be.
We brought the kids and came to Panama City, Florida with my brother-in-law Paul. That makes the total count =10.  7 kids and 3 adults. Yesterday I spent a lot of the time cooking, shopping for bathing suits that were left behind or too small, breaking up arguments and being a peace-keeper, issuing naps and being the director of the time management department. All this was going on while the guys did…..um….I’m not really sure what they were doing. For anyone who is married with children, you know what I mean.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love my family but my idea of a vacation at the beach includes things like reading a good book while lounging near the surf, sipping something cold and taking a dip in cool water without multiple monkeys attached to my back. Oh wait. That was life before kids. Some surreal dream I think I had long, long ago.
So I”m awake this morning with my Zoe because she didn’t get the memo about sleeping in while we’re on vacation and I have some time to prepare myself for what could be a repeat of yesterday.
(insert picture of me with eyes closed repeating some slick saying over and over)

OK.  I thought of one.

“You will go exceedingly farther in 2 months by being genuinely interested in 2 people than you will in 2 years of  trying to get people interested in you”

Ahhh. Focus. Love. Give. Serve. Go with the flow.

Go to the beach and play.  Whatever you’re doing today, make it worth giving up a day of your life for.
