Nikki + Nate

This is my new york couple, Nikki and Nate. They’re getting married in October and I’m super excited about their wedding. I’m also looking forward to a trip to the Big Apple for their engagement session this spring. We had a short session scheduled for last Saturday to get a few shots for their Save the Date cards but due to my car accident, I couldn’t make it. It’s the first time in 13 years that I have had this happen and I felt sick about it. Fortunatly, there are some awesome photographers around that are also amazing people and one of these is Hassel Weems.  He heard about the accident and immediately contacted me, offering to cover anything that I had scheduled.  Since Nikki and Nate were only in from New York this particular weekend, it was one of those that couldn’t be re-scheduled and I am so grateful for Hassel.  They say that in times of crisis, you find out who your real friends are and I just wanted to publicly thank him for being just that.

Nikki and Nate, thanks for being flexible and I look forward to seeing you both very soon. You are a very beautiful couple!

Something to avoid.

My friend Jodi came by to bring me some very happy yellow balloons and pick up picture of Libby and as we were standing near the front door, she saw this next of black widow babies that had just hatches about a foot away where my head was. Talk about 2 women freaking out! After 2 phone calls made to men and no answer, we bravely approached them with a can of Raid and a shoe and drowned than first in foam and crushed and smeared them along the brick just to make sure.
I’m so glad you came by, Jodi!!

Little Liberty

Libby turns 1 this month and they don’t get much cuter than this. Her mom teaches Violin if you are interested, she’s awesome. Happy Birthday Libby!

Micaela

She’s almost 13. I am so excited about her Bat-Mitzvah in a few months. She is an artist, a dancer, and a really sweet girl. We met up a few weeks ago to get some shots for her guest signing book. These are some of my favorite shots of her.

Bye-bye Toyota

So this is my car at the wrecking yard. Steve went down to get all my stuff out and took a few pictures. It looks awful. I was rear ended at 45 PMH while I was waiting to turn into my neighborhood and knocked into oncoming traffic and hit again at 45 MPH. I wasn’t wearing my seatbelt. Miraculously, i have no broken bones or internal organ damage but I have never felt so much pain in my life. I can barely walk and I need help going to the bathroom. I have 8 stiches on the right side of my eye and a corneal laceration on my right eye. My mom and sister flew in on Wed. to help and I am so grateful for them. I can’t hold Zoe and that’s hard. I’m on muscle relaxers and percocet. Please keep me in your prayers, I would like to be 100% better within a week. ( yes, I’m dreaming big because God is big)
Lots of love, Shawna
