Good friends, Good times {central coast, ca}

Our good friend Aaron is a total artist, photographer, surfboard shaper and all around cool guy. His back yard is a maze of koi ponds, goldfish tanks, fiberglass work stations and a bon fire pit in the middle for Sunday bbq’s. This couch is an icon and Kermit would have lots of stories to tell if he could talk.

Madi was stoked to get a new board, custom design by Aaron Loyd.

We stayed with my BFF Anne and her 3 kids who I met when her youngest was about 6 months old. He’s now 9. We spent a day at Avila Valley Hot Springs swimming and smelling like eggs. ( sulfer)

Top/clockwise. Madison:12 Laina:13 Scott:9 Blake:11 Yes, Laina is the oldest. Her and Madison have always been on this scale and nothing has changed.

They played for hours on the back lawn every day, making up new games and seeing who could be the most annoying..LOL. Scottie has just launched a soccer ball and his sister’s head and waits for the hit.

Bingo!

Anne and Blake

She is one of the best cooks I know and on one particular morning she decided to make some cookies form scratch….about 5 different kinds. yummmm.

Of course we had to do a bonfire on the beach. Temp was about 55-60. Smores were devoured by all.

California Dreamin…and a dress to go with it.

Carolyn heard about the Haiti dress exchange from her BFF, Julia. She was her maid of honor last fall and when she contacted me about the exchange, it worked out that we could certainly do the shoot while I was in California on vacation. We met at the ever-so-cute Cambria Pines Lodge and strolled through the gardens then we hit the beach at Moonstone. Her family is adorable. Thanks, Carolyn!

Kelly Mason {wedding dress exchange}

Kelly donated her dress to the Haiti dress fund and last month we met and took some great shots of her and her beautiful family. Here’s some favs.

I love, love, love the sun rays shooting across these next few. It’s interesting to think that 10 years ago these would have been considered ‘no good’ by photography standards. My, how things change.

California Dreaming. 06.10.09

This morning we went to our friend Aaron’s house, ate a few doughnuts, looked for fish in murky water, checked out kite surfing photos and figured out differences between Nikon and Canon…then we went surfing. Well, Madison and Aaron did. Zoe slept in my arms as I breathed in ocean air and watched my oldest daughter charge waves and chilling waters all in the name of fun.

I eat, sleep and breathe Dora.

Kimberly + Evan {06.06.09}

Kimberly and Evan were married last Saturday at Northside United Methodist Church and had a fantastic reception at Chastain Horse Park. Kimberly is the third family member that I have been so privileged to photograph and her wedding was absolutely beautiful. I have never seen a more stunning dress. Ever. Alvina Valenta designed this dress and it was a jaw dropper! The back had over 60 delicate buttons and the bustle was so gorgeous.

I love this shot of one of the bridesmaids buckeling her shoes.

All 7 of the bridesmaids her stunning as well, including her maid of honor, Melanie, who is also her twin sister and a former bride.

Florals were provided by Laura at The Perfect Stem and Kimberly’s bouquet carried a cross that belonged to her mother.

Evan is the sweetest guy and he reminds me of Clark Kent in the original Superman.

The fabulous MeWha came up to shoot with me yesterday and got some great shots.

Bagpipes are so cool. Especially in churches where they echo and send chills down my spine.

The Groom had a very unique cake provided by Gabriel’s in Marietta. Yes, that’s a duck on top.

At the end of the night, 4 of the bridesmaids decided that they were way to hot and they didn’t need to store another dress in their closets so the cut them off. Ah…freedom. It was hilarious and yes…the bride was ok with it.

We had such a great time and it was so good to see everyone. Kimberly and Evan, I love you guys! {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{ HERE’S YOUR SLIDESHOW}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
