Amy Rich + Jason Kirkus {4 seventeen 10}

I knew it was going to be a beautiful wedding but I didn’t know that I would be lifting my chin for the whole day. Amy was drop dead gorgeous in her AH-MAZING gown from Bridals by Lori.  She’s also a superstar and will be appearing on Say Yes to the Dress on TLC.  (I admit that I’ve never watched the show but I will definately watch this one!)  Makeup was artisticallyt applied by Nick Day and Jennifer Merker.

The flower girls were so cute, they changed for the reception as well and wore tulle skirts with ballet slippers so they could dance and play. They each drew photos for Amy while she was getting ready, the kind that belong in frames.

Amy and Jason were married at Peachtree UMC with their reception at The Westin Hotel in Buckhead.

They met one another at the altar and I was totally expecting Jason to drop right there. I think if it weren’t for all the camera’s he would have. You did well, Jason!  Paul Wages captured video of entire event as well.

The Westin Ballroom was transformed by Darryl Wiseman who is always incredible at what he does.  The groom himself gets big props too for making the seating arrangement frame from scratch.

Atlanta Party Band rocked the reception with their dancelicious grooves until 1:00 am! They were non stop and each of them had a turn at the end of the night to shake it. I think there was a 3 way tie between 2 of the lead singers and Jason.

I loved every mintue of the day and then off they went to Figi. I just know that one day someone is going to ask me to come along on their honeymoon to document all their adventures/travels but unfortunatly this one wasn’t it.

Congratulations Amy & Jason Kirkus.

Stacey + Jordan Weitzner {04.ten.10}

The room was full of excitement when I arrived at The Hotel Intercontinental, Stacey was surrounded by friends and family and the anticipation was palpable.  The beautiful chiffon gown fluttered with the slightest passing while hair and makeup were attended to by Todd Lowery and Wendy Role.  There was laughter, nervousness, anticipation and excitement in every corner of the bridal suite.

The sweet smell of flowers filled the room and graced the hands of bride and bridesmaids. Catherine Walther of Arrangementsdid an excellent job of filling the day with fragrance and beauty.

The Groom’s room usually has a very different vibe than the brides, the guys were non-chalant and cool while trying to figure out how to tie a bowtie andr waiting for direction on what to do next. Jordan was the only one who knew and I have to say it’s the first time I have seen a tie-it-yourself-bowtie.  It seems like they usually come pre tied with a clip.  I thought it was fitting as he has just graduated and will be starting his intern as a pediatric doctor.  Doctors just know things that other people don’t.

I love the way the schedule plays out at Jewish weddings, as the bride and groom meet before the actual ceremony to “officially” marry by signing the Ketubah. Each one is a beautiful piece of art and it outlines the rights and responsibilities of the groom and protects the bride. Traditionally written in Aramaic, the signatures of witnesses are also written in this ancient script which only adds to the intensity of the signing as it must be done with precise care. The Ketubah is carefully kept for the entire life of the couple as history states that marital relations are not allowed if it is either lost, destroyed or otherwise unretrievable. How many married people out there know where your marriage license is? Hmmmm?

The ballroom at the Intercontinental was gorgeous. The tables glowed with candelight and placed on each plate was a delicious chocolate favor with the medical symbol on one side and a tooth on the other as Stacey is a year away from being a Dentist. Like attracts like as these two medical specalists exchanged their vows. The entire day was carefully attended to by Christina Zubowicz and Suzanne Reinhard of Magnolia Events & Planning.

I have to say that the groom’s cake was the most unique I’ve ever seen. Designed by Nikki at the Highland Bakery, it was the perfect Abbey Road.  The wedding cake was beatifully created by the chefs at the hotel.

The band kept the night in a celebratory mood as they performed and entertained. The Ruperts Orchestra is a 12 piece dance band that kept the dance floor packed. They were a perfect fit for this high energy night.

It was a wonderful event and I wish the very best to the new Mr. and Mrs. Weitzner.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

DJ Anthony and his family

When Madison said she wanted a party with a DJ for her 13th birthday the first thing I did was think “trade.” Surely DJ’s need great pictures of themselves so how about you come and DJ for me and I’ll give you a fabulous photo shoot? Win, win if you ask me. The first guy I asked didn’t seem that interested, (cha!) but it was all my good fortune to find Anthony Hylton because he did an amazing job. The kids loved it and he was happy to be there rockin the music until we had to tell him to stop. His system was portable and high tech and you could tell that he really enjoys what he does.

I met his family a few weeks later and spent time chasing Nina, their 15 month old little darling and chatting and capturing moments between Anthony and his beautiful bride Michelle.  Here are some of my favorites and if you ever need a DJ, you won’t be disappointed with DJ ANT

Proud Momma. {I said mom, not sister}

This is my friend Chris and her beautiful kids, Morgan, Brandon and Brady. She is a FABULOUS interior decorator and her kids are great at everything they do. She tells me she’s married but I don’t believe her becuase she never lets me meet her husband. Really. I actually started to think she was some undercover secret agent but when she came by my house last week I asked her for advice on a few things and within 15 minutes she had made some small adjustments that made a big impact and wants to come back for a decorating party so I guess she’s legit.

I still want to meet her husband though!

Sara Katherine Nicole Davies {6 days old}

My friend is a grandmother. LOL. I didn’t really think twice about it until I thought of my friend being a grandmother which means that I am in the age bracket where I could potentially be a grandmother. No, wait. For real! It would be possible but my oldest is only 13 so forget about it. I am super happy for her though, she’s a super hip, cute grandmother and her daughter Courtney brought this sweet bundle joy into the world on March 31st at 8:10 p.m. weighing 7 lbs 13.5 ounces.

Congratulations, friend. That’s one lucky little baby to have you as her grandma.
